Egyptian recipes are delicious and most of the regular dishes of Egypt are suitable for most people. It is not possible to typify Egyptian dishes as spicy or otherwise. Some of the dishes are rich, some are nutritious and some are simply sweet dishes. The ingredients used, are available in all Egyptian markets. Vegetables such as Flava beans or Ful are very popular. The style is more of oriental type than occidental type.
The Egyptian style of cooking has evolved over some thousands of years. Amazingly, they were the first to create ovens for home use. Also, the earliest pastas and mayonnaise were made by the Egyptian cooks. The Ful Mesdames, a flava bean item, is considered the national dish of Egypt. The Moloukhiya soup, also called the green soup, is a very healthy dish, which is consumed locally with steaming hot rice.
