Pyramid of Sahure

Pyramid of Sahure is an old pyramid of Egypt and located at Abusir region. In ancient Egyptian civilization, it was popularly known as the soul shines of Sahure. This great wonder was probably constructed in the 5th century. Sahure's pyramid was made of limestone blocks. An entrance passage to the sepulture was made at the northern part.

Sahure, the 2nd pharaoh of the 5th dynasty governed Egypt for around 12 years. He built the first pyramid in Abusir. Basically, it comprises five or six steps. The mortuary temple on the eastern part is highly preserved with several granite-made pillars and blocks. It is assumed that the Pyramid of Sahure is the first structure to welcome the tourists in Abusir.

On the other hand, king Sahure constructed a small satellite pyramid within the territory of its own enclosure wall at the southeastern part of the pyramid.

It is also believed that Sahure was the first king to construct a pyramid complex within Abusir and the construction technique adopted to build this ancient step pyramids was also unique. The mortuary temple halls of this Sahure's pyramid are really beautiful and tourists are attracted to this from various corners of the world.
