Pyramid of Amenemhet III is located in the military zone of Dahshur in Egypt. The height of the Amenemhet III pyramid is 75 meters with a base of 105 meters and a slope of 54? 30´. The ground, on which the pyramid is laid, is made up of hard clay. As the pyramid was constructed only 33 feet above sea level, there were many complications. The substructure soaked the water of river Nile. This resulted in the formation of cracks at different places, especially on the chamber walls and corridors. “Amenemhet in mighty” is inscribed on the Pyramid.
Within the complex of the pyramid, there is a valley temple, which comprises two wide courts. These were built on mounting terraces. The walls of one of the courts have been constructed in the form a gateway that looks like a pylon. Between the brick walls, there is a causeway leading to the valley temple and then to the complex. On the north of the causeway, there were mud-brick houses built for the priests. The mortuary temple had a courtyard that had eighteen columns made of granite. The columns were shaped like papyrus plants. The offering hall inside the Pyramid of Amenemhet III was located behind the courtyard.
