Amerindians

Amerindians community actually belongs to the Guyana origin. The Amerindians were actually a huge flock of tribes. Their language of communication was tribal, which is the reason they were known as the tribal group.
They used to live near the coast. The coastal Amerindians were classified in different sections. The classifications of Amerindians are:

  • Carib
  • Arawak
  • Warao
  • Akawaio
  • Arekuna
  • Macusi
  • Patamona
  • Waiwai
  • Wapisiana

Among these Tribal groups, some moved over to Ecuador and settled there. The population of the Amerindians in Ecuador is second in ranking as far as the demographical data is concerned. The arrival of Amerindians in Ecuador resulted in the increase in the population of Ecuador. Blending of some of the already existing communities of Ecuador with the Amerindians, gave birth to new communities like Mestizos, the mixed breed of Spanish and Amerindians.

Ecuadorian people or the population of Ecuador consists of the different mixed groups. The Amerindians, Mestizos, Criollos, Afro-Ecuadorian and many other mixed communities. The lifestyle of each community is different and when all these communities celebrate the festivals altogether, it highlights on the colorful and fun-loving Ecuadorian life.

The Amerindians got their political recognition in the year 1996 by the government of Ecuador.
