Ecuador International Relations were noticed both in the past as well in the present between Gran Columbia, Spain, Nueva, Lima and South America. Ecuador International Relations has gone through a lot of turmoil and seen many diverse developments.
Important Ecuador International Relations
Gran Columbia:
- It was a federation, which was founded by President Simon Bolivar.
- It was made up of Ecuador, Columbia, Panama and Venezuela.
- The President had aspired towards uniting the entire region of South America but had been unsuccessful.
- The federation broke down in 1830.
Lima:
- The border differences between Lima, the capital of Peru and Ecuador were resolved in 1998 by signing a peace pact.
- There had been long-standing disputes over borders, which also led to irregular armed fights along the sections that were not demarcated.
- The last dispute took place in 1995.
- The guarantor countries which include, Brazil, Argentina and Chile, were instrumental in erasing the conflict.
- Ecuador International Relations with Peru are monitored through MOMEP or Military Observers Mission to Ecuador-Peru.
Spain:
In 2001 an agreement had been signed between the Kingdom of Spain and Ecuador relating to the planning and regulation of "Migratory Flows".
Ecuador also shares diverse Ecuador International Relations with countries like Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Venezuela, Paraguay, Uruguay and Chile.
