The Parliament that is presently active in Ecuador is the Inter-Parliamentary Union or the IPU. This section of Ecuador government is the international organization of Parliament of sovereign states. Established in 1889, this organization works for the propagation of peace and co-operation among people. It believes in the establishment of representative democracy.
This body of Parliament works in close co-operation with the UNO and shares its ideas and ideologies. It lends a helping hand and cooperates with the International intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, which are motivated by the same ideals.
