Simon Bolvar's Birthday is celebrated on July 24th in the year 1783 in Caracas, Venezuela. He died in the month of December 17, 1830 in Santa Marta ,Colombia. Simon Bolvar one of the south American freedom fighters lead collective wars known as Bolivar's War. Simon Bolvar lead the fight for independence in the countries of Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Panama and Bolivia. People look up to him as their mighty hero and he is greatly respected throughout much of Hispanic America. Bolivar is better known as ''El Libertador" or the Liberator.
BOLIVAR'S VISION
Bolivar's vision was of creating an American Revolution-style federation between all the newly independent republics with a government set-up solely to recognize and uphold individual rights. Bolívar finally resigned his presidency on April 27, 1830 thinking of leaving the country for exile in Europe, possibly in France. He died on December 17, 1830, in "La Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino", in Santa Marta, Colombia.
It is Bolivar's idea of freedom and citizenship that will also establish his concept of Pan Americanism from the Monroe Doctrine's appropriation of the idea for an American alliance. Simon Bolivar in Ecuador, is revered as one of the most important freedom fighters.
