A massive earthquake struck the remotely populated Qinghai region of China. The quake measuring 6.5 on the Richter Scale shook China's Western Province region on November 10, 2008 at 01:22:01 UTC. The earthquake with a depth of 10 km is reported to be 162 km NNE of Golmud, Qinghai, China; 551 km WNW of Xining, Qinghai, China and 1258 km NNE of Thimpu, Bhutan. No casualties have been reported so far.
