The Earthquake of magnitude 6.6 on the Richter Scale shook the Eastern Xizang region of China on 6 October 2008 at 16:30:45. The center of the quake has been reported to be 84 km W of Lhasa, Xizang (Tibet); 253 km NNE of Thimpu, Bhutan; 316 km NNE of Gangtok, Sikkim, India. No casualties have been reported so far from this tremor which originated at a depth of 10 km.
