Central Mid-Atlantic Ridge Earthquake

Earthquake which struck Central Mid-Atlantic Ridge on 10 Sept. 2008 is reported to have a magnitude of 6.4 on Richter Scale. Epicentered at 8.001N & 38.687W, the earthquake had a depth of 10 km. The earthquake struck at the place 1307 km north of Fortaleza, Brazil and 1542 km east and north-east of Cayenne, French Guiana. An earthquake of same magnitude had struck the region on 23rd May the same year.
