In less than two months another earthquake struck the Andaman Islands in the India region on 10 August, with the epicenter traced to 11.042 N 91.838 E. This is 120 km south-west of Port Blair, 378 km north-west of Misha in Nicobar Islands and 791 km south-west of Yangon, the capital of Myanmar. The quake, which recorded 6 on the Richter Scale, has not reported to have caused any damage. An earthquake of magnitude 6.6 had struck the region on June 27, 2008.
