Palm Islands in Dubai

The worlds three largest man made islands, Palm Islands in Dubai is known as the eighth wonder of the world. The project of the Palm Island in Dubai was landed by Al Nakheel Properties with the intention of increasing Dubai's shoreline by 120 Km and develop residential,leisure and entertainment areas. The idea of creating the Palm Islands in Dubai and making it a major tourist destination was first declared in the year 2002. There are three Palm Island in Dubai:

The Palm Jumeirah - Dubai
The Palm Jabel Ali-Dubai
The Palm Deira-Dubai

An artificial peninsula , the Palm Island in Dubai were constructed with sand dredged from the bottom of the Persian Gulf. The sand is deposited with the help of a dredging ship which is guided to the right position and monitored by a GPS. This process is known as ' rainbowing'. The outer most edge of the encircling crescent of each Palm Island in Dubai is actually a large rock breakwater which is placed by a crane and is given a GPS coordinate.

Each of the Palm Islands in Dubai are constructed in the shape of a date palm tree including its trunk, crown with fronds and finally surrounded by a crescent island . The islands are well equipped and have residential Villas, Luxury Hotels,Shoreline apartments, theme parks,shopping Malls,Cinemas etc.
