The requirements for a Dubai visa differ hugely between nationalities and the purpose of visit. Before entering Dubai the visitors are strongly recommended to check visa regulations. All nationalities coming to Dubai require a visa with the exceptions of British citizens and citizens from GCC countries (Gulf Cooperation Council) comprising Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. European citizens coming from countries like Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the Vatican can receive Dubai visas on arrival to United Arab Emirates. Besides, residents from Australia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Asia, Canada and the United States of America can acquire their visa on arrival. The American, Australian, South African and European citizens have to apply for a tourist visa before departure from the UAE embassy in their respective countries. Israelis or travelers with Israeli passport are denied a Dubai visa. The rest of the nationalities must apply for the Dubai visa before arriving UAE through their respective embassy, a local hotel or a local UAE sponsor.
However, there are certain regulations on the duration of stay in Dubai. The GCC nationalities can stay as long as they want but the British people can stay for a month and can extend the visa for further two months.

- Photocopy of the visitor's passport
- Visit Visa Application form, completed and signed by the sponsoring company
- Photocopy of the trade license of the company
- A letter of assurance from the company stating its responsibility of the visitor during his visit
The work visas for Dubai are issued for citizens who want to do business or work in Dubai. The work visas are valid for 60 days. There are different kinds of work visas in Dubai like private companies or Establishments employees (Issued from labor Office), servants, investors, partners and Governmental institutions and Ministries (Issued from DNRD) for government employees only.
