The Copenhagen is the most important city of Denmark. It is the capital of the country which covers a population of 501,285. It is a low-rise city that consists of blocks of six-storey structures. It covers an area of about 88sqkm. The climate of Copenhagen is pleasant in the months of May to September. During the winter time the average temperature drops down to the freezing point. The city of Copenhagen is also known for its festivals round the year. The most important amongst all the other festivities is the ‘Alborg carnival' which celebrates the arrival of spring time. The Copenhagen Jazz festival, in summer is also very popular among the people. The University of Copenhagen is the largest university of Denmark which has student strength of 35,000. It has been ranked as the best city of the world though the living cost is high for the common people.
