The Svaty Kopecek u Olomouce (the Church of Visitation of Our Lady) is a magnificent church located on the hill Svatý Kope?ek (the Holy Little Hill). The Premonstratensian community has been offering prayers since 1151. The chapel was constructed in the Premonstratensian abbey Klášterní Hradisko near Olomouc in 1633.
A popular legend associated with the church is that Jan Andrejsek, a rich merchant of Olomouc trading in wine decided to build a chapel on Svaty Kopecek, after the Holy Mother, Virgin Mary occurred in his dream. The pilgrimage complex of Svatý Kope?ek u Olomouce comprises of a church, utility buildings, an ambit with a chapel and residential.
The complex was built during the late seventeenth and early eighteenth century. The architecture of the church was influenced by the Baroque style. Consisting part of the church is the winter chapel and the "Holy stairs" as a reminder of 28 stairs in the Pilat´s Jerusalem palace, which Jesus had to climb before his sentence to death. In 1995, Svaty Kopecek u Olomouce was honored by the visit of John Paul. In the year 1995 itself, Svaty Kopecek u Olomouce or the Church of the Visitation of Our Lady was felicitated with the title "basilica minor".
