Otokar Brezina was one of the greatest poet, writer and symbolist of his time. Some of his greatest poetic works are:

Otokar Brezina was also a fantastic essayist and he has left behind a rich collection of intriguing essays. He was nominated for the Noble Prize twice – in 1868 and again in 1929. He was a great influence to an entire generation of writers and artists in his country. Otokar Brezina was born on 13th September, 1868. His original name was Vaclav Ignac Jebavy. From his teenage he started his poetic talent. His first published work was some epic compositions for Jaro. He used the pseudonym – Vaclav Danovsky in his first writings.
He lost both his parents within a span of a week, which left him devastated. However he fought back from this sad situation and excelled in the literary world. Some of his widely appreciated works are:
