The palatial edifice of National Theatre in Prague resembles the Neo-classical architecture. Inaugurated in the year 1883, National Theatre in Prague is equipped with a steel-made stage and state-of-the-art electric fixtures. Built between 1868 and 1881, the National Theatre of Prague symbolizes the cultural inclination of the local people.
Opera, drama and ballet are the prime art manifestations that are carried out in the Prague National Theatre. Famous designers and artists like F. Zenisek, J V Myslbek, M. Ales and V. Hynais made major contributions in shaping up the magnificent interiors of the National Theatre in Prague.
Although the National Theatre was operated from its very inception, however in the following years of 1883 it had to be re-constructed as the place was largely destroyed by a devastating fire. In the year 1977 National Theatre was again closed down for renovation work specially to make it ready for its 100th anniversary. In 1983, National Theatre in Prague hosted Smetana's Libuše performance to commemorate its journey of 100 years.
