Karel Teige is a name in the art world of Czech Republic, which is still taken with immense respect. He is the man who redefined graphic designing. Karel Teige also was an expert book designer. He was also a modern poet and eminent architectural theorist. His contribution to photography is not to be ignored at all.
Karel Teige was born in the year 1900 and from an early age showed his artistic talents. Although his contributions was recognized a little later, Karel Teige played a major role in Czech modernism and the European Avantgarde.
Karel Teige was a revolutionary. In the post World War I period he took the responsibility in his shoulder to create a class less Czech society. H stressed on maximum contributions from painters, artists, poets, writers, architects and engineers to build an ideal nation.
Teige was very much into theaters and designed many sets and stages. He wrote poems, film scripts and some very important essays. He also worked as the editor for several avantgarde journals.
He was a skilled lecturer and traveled extensively around the continent to deliver important lectures in many prestigious institutions. He died of a heart attack in 1945.
