The
Zlín region is located on the east of the Czech Republic, covering an area of 3,964 square kilometer. In terms of area it is the11th largest independent administrative unit of the country.
The region has the total population of about 600,000 people. The
Zlín Region comprises of 4 districts namely Vsetín, Kromeríž, Uherské Hradište, Zlín and 304 municipalities, of which, 30 are towns and cities.
Few popular tourist destination of Zlín Region are:
- The tourist area of Moravian Wallachia in the northernmost part of the Zlín Region abounds in diverse natural beauty.
- Moravian Slovakia has rich history, culture, strong traditions and folklore. The Moravian Slovakian folk costumes and songs reflect the rich cultural heritage of the place. The tasty traditional cuisine with local wine and slivovice are something, which shouldn't be missed out during your visit.
- Kromeríž is a city of bishops and archbishops, bounded between the Zlín Region and the Olomouc Region and acts as a natural connection of Moravian Slovakia, Haná, the Zlín Region and Wallachia. The roads and streets of the city lead you to the marvelous squares city, namely Stojanovo, Snemovní, Masarykovo, Hanácké or Riegrovo and the most beautiful square, Velké Námestí.
- The areas of Zlín and Luhacovice are bounded by Hostýnské vrchy, the ridges of the White Carpathians, Vizovická vrchovina and the Morava River.
