Vsetin

Vsetín district is spread over an area of 1,143 kilometers and has a small populace of 147,000 people. A part of the Zlín region, the district of Vsetín is drained by the River Vsetinska Becva and the River Roznovska Becva. Surrounded by the imposing Vsetinske Hills and the Beskydy and Javorniky Mountains, the region is rich in flora and fauna and has a captivating and enticing scenic beauty that lures people to visit the region of Vsetín from all round the globe.

The towns and the city make up the district of Vsetín. While the town upholds the culture and the tradition of the region, the city is the administrative center of Vsetín. A representation of the classical Renaissance style of architecture is reflected in the chateau of Vsetin. The monumental chateau was reconstructed several times and is presently the site for the local repository of history and ethnography or the history museum. Some of the other places around Vsetín are also popular for their innate elemental beauty. Situated at the confluence of the two rivers, Roznovska Becva and Vsetinska Becva, Valasske Mezirici is popularly referred to as the Wallachian Athens. The region is popular for the magnificent baroque architectural extravaganza that is preserved in the chateaus, churches and the castles of the region. While in Vsetín, the tourists may also visit the Roznov pod Radhostem.
