About 43 % of the region of Karlovy Vary in Czech Republic is covered by forests. Slavkovsky Les is a wonderful nature reserve, which is adorned with everything that is beautiful in nature. Many rivers like Tepla, Rolava, Oh?e, St?ela and Svatava flow through the Karlovy Vary Region. The area of Karlovy Vary also exhibits the highest peak of the region, Klinovec that forms a part of the Krusne Hory Mountains. The youngest extinct volcano, Komorni Hurkain, in the Czech Re-public is also located in the Karlovy Vary Region.
Most of the population of the region is engaged in the industries of energy, mining, building and forestry. The spa centers that are in huge number in the region also employ many people. The re-gion has a long tradition of manufacturing glassware and fine porcelain. The major crops that are grown in the region are cereal grains and corn.
