A comparatively low mountain, the Hostýnsko-vsetínská hornatina is one of the mountains in the Czech Republic. A part of the Western Carpathians, Hostýnsko-vsetínská hornatina is a densely forested mountain range with a notable amount of secondary Spurce plantation. The Becva River valley divides the Hostýnsko-vsetínská hornatina into two parts, the lower eastern Hostýnské vrchy and the higher western Vsetínské vrchy. The Hostýnsko-vsetínská hornatina is mainly a product of the deposition of flysch and the high sedimentation in the Becva rivers valleys. As the flysch slopes are not very stable, there are frequent tendencies of landslides which are in fact common in the area.
Vysoká, that is, the High Mountains is the Eastern most part of the range and is also the highest point in the Hostýnsko-vsetínská hornatina range with a height of about 1,024 m. The ridges in the mountain range are wrapped in deep forests and at occasional intervals there are some pasture lands. There are a number of attractive place around Hostýnsko-vsetínská hornatina, these include the Rožnovská Becva river valley and the southern Vsetínská Becva river valley. Like most other mountain Valleys, the population along the lower lands of the Hostýnsko-vsetínská hornatina range is sparsely populated and the population concentration is more in the Valley along the river.
