Parliament of the Czech Republic

The democratic republic country, Czech Republic has a strong multi party political character. The principal legislative council of the Czech Republic, the Parliament of the Czech Republic, with headquarters at Prague is bifurcated into the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies.

The elite upper house or the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic is housed within the premises of the Wallenstein Palace, in the capital city of Prague. The Senate elects 81 members who are incumbent for a span of 6 years. Besides one member is appointed as President and four others as Vice President to head the various committees and councils of the government. The motto of the distinguished Senate Chancellery is to render technical, organizational as well as professional service and support to the citizens of the Czech republic. The President of the Senate ranks second in official hierarchy only to the nation's president. However his duties are mainly limited to gracing all national ceremonies.

The lower house of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, or the Chamber of Deputies is directly concerned with all administrative and economic decisions of the state. With its headquarters at Prague, the body elects 200 representatives for a span for 4 years.
