Hussein Chalayan was born in Nicosia and spent his initial years in Cyprus. With the relocation of his family in Britain, Hussein Chalayan became a resident of UK. He completed his graduation in 1993 from Central Saint Martins with a Bachelor's Degree in Fashion.
Many important events shaped the life of this talented fashion designer. The first was the Discussion with Zaha Hadid and Michael Bracewell at the Tate Gallery.

In the year 2000 Hussein Chalayan was appointed as the Creative Director of Aspray. The following year saw the launch of the C Magazine which was edited by him. The collections of Hussein Chalayan's designs were showcased in the different fashion shows in the whole world. The uniqueness of his collections made him a rage in the fashion world.
The creative genius of Hussein Chalayan is reflected in the numerous short films that has been created by him. The Art Projects, as he calls them, proves the artistic bend of his mind. The Art Projects include films like Echoforms, Place To Passage, Absent Presence, Compassion Fatigue and others. Hussein Chalayan, the artist, is displayed in these projects.
