Evridiki

Evridiki is considered as one of the most popular and famous singer and songwriter belonging to the list of prominent Cyprus People. Born in Limasol, Cyprus on 25th February, Evridiki, has made her country proud in the national as well as the international arena of popular music. The childhood of Evridiki was spent in Nicosia, th capital of Cyprus.

The musical talent of Evridiki was evident from the days of her childhood. The little girl studying in a nursery school exhibited her immense in singing and dancing from a tender age. Evridiki started learning to play the guitar at the age of 8 years. Theory of music, harmony and piano lessons featured in her daily routine during her high school days.

The school life of Evridiki was dotted with participation in various musical competitions and shows. The keen sense of music inherent in the girl made her an integral part of almost all musical programs, both inside and outside school. The big break for Evridiki came with her selection as a part of the vocal group in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1983 by Cypriot Broadcasting Corporation.

Evridiki completed her musical education in Boston at the Berkelee College of Music. She settled down with Giorgos Theophanus in Athens and begins her musical journey. Her first rendition comes in 'Michel' in 1989. Her first album, 'Gia proti fora', hits the shelves in 1991 and thus begins a journey of fame and fortune.

Evridiki has since featured in a number of music albums that has made her famous in Cyprus as well as the whole world. She has also taken part in the Eurovision Song Contest again in 1994. Her live concerts throughout the world has enhanced her popularity among the younger generations of music lovers. Cyprus has bestowed Evridiki with the honor of being the Best Female Singer Title in 2007.
