3Ws Oval Stadium



The 3Ws Oval Stadium in Bridgetown, Barbados has a capacity to hold 2000 spectators. Four of the warm-up matches of the Cricket World Cup 2007 will be played in this stadium. The stadium is named after the Caribbean cricketers Sir Frank Worrell, Sir Everton Weekes and Sir Clyde Walcott who were together popularly known as the 3Ws. Located in Bridgetown, in the eastern most Caribbean island of Barbados, fans and visitors arriving to watch the spectacular tournament can also explore the other attractions of the island of Barbados. This beautiful island is a popular tourist destination with many tropical gardens and lovely homes.

Tourists can also visit sites such as the fabulous and amazing Atlantis Submarine that provides a underwater adventure tour, Harrison’s Cave, a unique building constructed in a natural contour in the limestone bedrock, Bridgetown, a busy commercial city set on Carlisle Bay, Ocean Park, a unique attraction that displays a collection of freshwater and tropical marine life, Barbados Museum, that displays the coral structure of Barbados, Artifacts of the Amerindians, Children's Gallery, African culture gallery and collection of rare historical maps of the island, the Holetown monument that commemorates the first English landing in Barbados in 1625 and Welchman Hall Gully, a thickly wooded ravine. Visitors can also take a Safari Tour that takes them to the interior of the island and gives a spectacular view of the scenery of Barbados’ countryside and coastlines.
