The marvelous island nation of Jamaica , belonging to the Greater Antilles, forms the third largest island in the Caribbean , and will be a major venue for the world's greatest cricketing event, the 9 th ICC Cricket World Cup 2007.

The magnificent island of Jamaica , with its tropical climate, stunning Blue Mountains and beautiful narrow coastal plains offering picturesque landscapes, is a major tourism destination, along with mining, that earns the island's revenue. With its unique culture harboring musical genres like Reggae, the Rastafarian Movement and breath-taking scenery, Jamaica welcomes the 2007 Cricket World Cup.

Jamaica will be hosting the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup's Warm-up Matches, the grand Opening Ceremony, scheduled for 11 March, 2007; the Group D Stage matches, and also the 1 st Semi-Final, scheduled for play on Tuesday 24 th April, 2007.

The Warm-up matches and the extravagant Opening Ceremony would be held at the Greenfield Stadium in Trelawny; whilst its Group Stage matches, including the Opening match, and 1 st Semi-Final would be held at its upgraded Sabina Park , in Kingston , with a crowd capacity of 30,000 people.

The tickets to the event have been partly sold out and the remaining ones can be purchased in the third ticketing sales phase that begins from 1 February 2007. The tickets can be booked online too. One can apply for tickets to individual matches, select individual venues, apply for a Venue Combination to see all the matches played there, or can ‘Follow A Path' of any one of the 16 participating teams.

General Points to remember while applying for tickets for the 2007 Cricket World Cup are:

Only one online order per person is permitted but each household can submit two applications provided each order is from a separate person in the same household.

For warm-up, Group Stage and Super 8 matches, applicants can order up to 20 tickets per match per application, and this also applies to the opening ceremony.

For the two Semi Finals and the World Cup Final the maximum limit is 4 tickets per application.
