West Indies
Airlines & Flights
The main reason for the popularity of the West Indies
islands is their easy accessibility especially from North America . Most Americans fly to these islands to spend their vacations. There are a number of flights that operate from the major international airports in the US . Many European airlines too operate daily flights to the Caribbean
islands. As there are no direct flights from various other places such as those in Australia, New Zealand and Asia to all the islands, those traveling from these places have to take connecting flights either from Europe or North America. Those planning to visit the islands need to know more about the flights and destinations.
UK : There are a number of direct flights from the UK to the West Indies . They include British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, BWIA,
, Excel Airways, BMI, Air 2000/First Choice, Britannia Airways and Cubana. British Airways flies from the UK directly to
Antigua , Barbados , St Lucia , Bermuda , Grenada , Tobago and Port of Spain . Visitors traveling to these islands can fly British Airways. Those who plan to travel to other islands can board the inter-island carriers operating from the various Caribbean islands. Some of the main flights connecting
Antigua include LIAT, Air Jamaica , American Eagle, BWIA, Caribbean Star and Caribbean Sun. All flights to Barbuda connect through Antigua .
US : Those traveling from US may fly American Airlines, US Airways, Continental Airlines, BWIA, Delta Airlines, Cayman Airways and Air Jamaica to reach the Caribbean Islands . American Eagle connects those islands, which are not served by long distance flights.
Canada : There are also a few airlines that travel from Canada to the Caribbean Islands . Air Canada , BWIA and Air Jamaica are the main flights from Canada .
