The Russian Federation is comprised of Arctic and sub-Arctic region, and is composed of several landscapes. The land has vast stretches of plain extending from the European to the Asian territory, identified as Siberia. Russian Federation is nestled along the northern stretches of Eurasia.
Russia is engulfed from the northwestern region to the southeastern with provinces like Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia, and North Korea.
FLAG OF RUSSIAN FEDERATION :
The Russian federation has a simple and meaningful rectangular flag that is dominated by just three pan-Slavic colors. Also, the colors are originally from the flag of Holland. The colors in the flag - white, blue and red (top to bottom) - appear on the flag as three horizontal stripes that are equal in width. This flag began being used just after the collapse of the USSR.
CLIMATE OF RUSSIAN FEDERATION
Travel to the Russian Federation during the months of May to September, when the day temperatures ascends to about 23-35 C, while the night temperature falls to about 10-23 C. The region is prone to snow spell where the temperature reaches to about -5 C especially in the month of May and September. Do carry along your waterproof shoes for the spring season while carrying along the warm clothes for beating away the cold during the winter season.
FLORA AND FAUNA OF RUSSIAN FEDERATION
The northern region of the Russian Federation is known as the arctic desert zone, which is comprised of the Arctic Ocean and the Taymyr Peninsula coastal region. Catch up with birds and mammals along the sea like the sea calf, seal and the walrus that are settled here.
The tundra region of the northern part of Asia can be separated into arctic zone and into tundra subzones. Watch out for species like the dwarf birches, willows, lichens, and mosses along with presence of arctic fox, reindeer, white hare, lemming, and willow ptarmigan that can be commonly sighted.
The Southern tundra forest zone, which is even called as taiga, cover major portion of the area in the province. Watch out the deciduous trees, growing here along with species like the spruce, pine, fir and cedar. The animals that are found here are Russian bear, reindeer, lynx, sable and squirrel. Birds that reside in this region are mainly capercaillie, hazel-grouse, owl, and woodpecker. The broadleaf wooded forest is a home to wonderful faunas like the European wild boar, deer, roe deer, red deer, mink, and marten.
The southern region is marked with forest-steppe zone, where one may find birds like the skylarks, cranes, eagles, and the great bustard. Amur Tigers, Amur Leopards, musk deer, Himalayan bears, brown bears, reindeer, salmon can be seen quite frequently within the region.
People of Russian Federation :
The people of the Russian Federation are predominantly descendents of the ancient Rus race. Almost all of them are Slavic in origin. However, there are people from other nations and other ethnicities who reside in the world's largest country; they are Tatars, Ukrainians, Bashkirs and Chuvashes.
Arts, Culture and Music of Russian Federation :
Art : art in the Russian federation expresses itself in different ways. One is the Byzantine art culture of icon painting. From it descended mosaic and fresco paintings. Other forms of art in the Russian Federation are the Russian avant-garde technique, which is a genre of modern art; Soviet Art; making Matryoshka doll; Gzhel art which specializes in styling blue-white ceramics, originating in the Gzhel town; a Russian wood painting style called Khokhloma; and the famous Slavic art of painting and decorating eggs called Pisanka.
Culture : though the Russian federation has a hybrid culture that reflects its Soviet past, the traits are nevertheless dominantly Slavic or more specifically, East Slavic. It is a derivation of the ancient 'Rus' culture that was steeped in Orthodox Christianity. Some of the things that make the culture of the country stand out are its various types of ballet - like Russian ballet, Ballets Russes, Barynya, Kamarinskaya; its Byzantine art and icon painting.
Music : the Russian Federation has a rich and diverse cultural heritage.Some of the indigenous music born and nurtured in the Russian Federation is Russian folk songs, Russian Church Music and Russian Opera.
Even traditional Russian poetry of the oral tradition called Chastushka is very lyrical. The chief types of musical instruments in the country are mainly string-based, wind-based and percussion. They are Balalaika, Domra, Semistrunnaya Gitara (Semistrunka), Gudok, Bayan, Volynka, Zhaleyka, Lozhki, Treshchotki, Buben and Zvonchalka.
Economy of Russian Federation :
Belonging to a socialist setup, the economy of the Russian federation profits from diverse sectors. In the agricultural sector, the chief produce of the country includes such crops as sunflower seed, sugar beets and grain. The industrial sector of the country is a lot more progressive than the agricultural one, there being different types of industries in the country. Some of the chief ones are mining of coal and other metals; oil, chemicals, machine building, making aircrafts and other spacecrafts; textiles, foods, shipbuilding, transportation equipment; military gadgets, medical instruments, electronics and agricultural machinery.
