INTRODUCTION TO QATAR : Qatar was under the rule of Persians for ages. Ottoman Turks and the British also ruled Qatar for years. At last on 3 rd September in the year 1871, it regained its independence.
LOCATION OF QATAR : The State of Qatar is an Arab nation that is located in the Middle East and in the western regions of the Asian continent. The Qatar Peninsula lies in the northeastern coast of Arabian Peninsula. The neighboring country that shares its border with Qatar is Saudi Arabia in the southern side. Persian Gulf is surrounding the country from all sides.
PHYSICAL MAP OF QATAR : The surface of the State of Qatar is covered with flat plains, deserts, uplands, lowlands and plateaus. Desert covers a considerable portion of the country. The desert region is full of sand dunes, rocks and pebbles. The Qurayn Abu al Bawl that rises almost 103 meters above the sea level claims the highest altitude of the country. On the other hand the Persian Gulf is the lowest point of the country.
