Lebanon covers a total land area of about 10,452 km˛ that stands in the 178th position while being the largest nation in the world. Most of the area in Lebanon is bordered with mountainous topography that can be scarcely seen along the narrow coastlines and the Beqaa Valley.

    CLIMATE OF LEBANON

    Enjoy a Mediterranean type of climate in Lebanon where the coastal regions are affected with cool and showery winters and hot and moist summers. Temperature usually goes below 0°C in most of the elevated region, that brings along winter accompanied with dense snowfall. Lebanon is prone to heavy precipitation where the regions of northeastern are heavily affected. The presence of high peaks along the western region obstructs the rain clouds from getting in, which initiates from the Mediterranean Sea.

    The native plants residing within the region are Olive trees, fig trees, grapevines are placed along the lower ground area while species that reside in higher altitudes are cedar, maple, juniper, fir, cypress, valonia oak, and Aleppo pine forest.

    Among the wild animals mention can be made of jackals, gazelles and rabbits that are found in the southern region. Different ranges of rodents, mice, squirrels, gerbils, and reptiles can also be sighted here.

    Bird species like thrushes, nightingales, songbirds, partridges, pigeons, vultures, and eagles are commonly seen within the state.
