Equatorial Guinea is filled with lush green tropical forests and snow capped mountains, which is famous for its Spanish colonial architecture. Known for being one of the smallest areas in Continental Africa this place has innumerable opportunities to adventure out with.

LOCATION OF EQUATORIAL GUINEA

Equatorial Guinea is nestled towards the western side of the coastal region of Africa, adjoining along the North Atlantic Ocean. Engulfed on both end is Cameroon, which lies towards the northern side while towards the east and south resides Gabon. The Gulf of Guinea has its borders along the western side, while the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe rests on the southwestern region.

Equatorial Guinea is nowhere nestled near the equator and is constituted with several islands. Bioko Island is one among them that is placed a few miles away from the Cameroon. Annobón Island is yet another important island which is situated somewhat near the southwestern region of Bioko Island. The largest of them being the Rio Muni, a continental region that is placed in the midst of Cameroon and Gabon mainland. Apart from these islands the other islets that are placed here are Corisco, Elobey Grande, Elobey Chico. The overall area of Equatorial Guinea is quite similar to Connecticut in its size. With thickly forested hills to coastal plains, from extinct volcanoes to inland waterways the place of Equatorial Guinea has it all within its domain.

CLIMATE OF EQUATORIAL GUINEA

The climatic condition of Equatorial Guinea is tropical in nature that witnesses both wet and dry seasons. It is during the month of June to August where Rio Muni experiences dry climatic condition and Bioko witnesses wet weather conditions from December to February. The Annobón region continuously registers misty conditions with regular rainfall. It is during the month of April to January where continuous down pouring generally occurs.

FLORA AND FAUNA OF EQUATORIAL GUINEA

Equatorial Guinea boasts of about 140 species of trees mainly palms and hardwoods. Yams and bananas are the native plants that are common in this area.

Monkeys, chimpanzees, sitatunga, mandrill, giant frog, elephants, and gray doves can be frequently sighted in this region.

Monte Alen National Park that is nestled in the Niefang mountains near the mainland region, which is a home to about 105 different species of mammals.
