It comprises of a stark white backdrop on which is a yellow bald eagle – which is the official coat of arms of the US and also its national bird. A shield with a blue panel and on top and red and white stripes below lies on the body of the eagle. The left talon of the eagle is shown as clutching an olive branch, while the right is shown to be holding three arrows. On either side of the eagle appear the initials of the Virgin Islands – ‘V' and ‘I' – in blue.
