The population of North Korea is subjected to diverse ethnic groups that are racially consistent with a minor portion of Chinese community and ethnic Japanese community thriving here. The people of this region have faith in religion like Confucianism, Daoism, and Buddhism.
The traditional dress of this region is hanbok while the native hat is called as gwanmo. The traditional food which the local people have are ssambap , bulgogi , sinseollo , kimchi , bibimbap and gujeolpan .

Art: The art and architecture of North Korea is influenced on the diverse cultural expression of the region, which is influenced by three major themes. One being the struggle against the revolutionary fight by martyr as seen in the masterwork of The Sea of Blood, the second being the restored happiness of the current society, and the third being the genius intellect of great leaders. The architecture of North Korea can be seen through its monuments, traditional motif architect and modern high-rise buildings.
Culture: One should go through the juche literature of atistic poems written by Kim Il Sung during the anti-Japanese movement. To name some of its work are The Flower Girl, The Sea of Blood, The Fate of a Self-Defense Corps Man, and The Song of Korea. Participate in the Spring Friendship Art Festival celebrated during the month of April, that honours great leaders of the region with love and respect. The place is recognised for its mass games where several choreographed dances and gymnastics are showcased. Motion pictures are widely popular in this region which is kept to educate the general masses with social happenings and informations.
Music: Revolutionary operas recognised as ch'angguk, is quite poular in North Korea. The fairy tales are conceptualised into musical themes in North Korea.
