PEOPLE OF CAYMAN ISLANDS
With high standards living condition, the Caymanian people belong to the mixed breed that comes from the African-European race, out of which half derieve from the Caucasian and rest are from the African. Several religions thrive here especially the Christain, Presbyterians and Anglicans. The overall population amounts to about 57,800 as on April 2006 with George Town being its capital city.
ARTS, CULTURE AND MUSIC OF CAYMAN ISLANDS
Arts: The cultural foundation of Cayman Island showcases the Cayman Islands Arts Festival, held during April every annually, where the talent artworks of the local artists are displayed. Take part in the Caribbean Festival of Creative Arts (CARIFESTA) that illustrates the visual arts of the Caribbean region. Along with it one would find demonstration of creative writing, dance, painting, sculpture and many other artworks.
Culture: The people have mastered the skills of building homes that have descended from several generations. With wonderful artworks, singsong dialects, and spending time in the native celebrations and musical activities is something what one resorts to.
Music: The place is known for its folk style music and a blend of international pop music. The Cayman National Cultural Foundation is known for promoting its native folk music along with its local festivities. Participate in celebrations like Cayman Islands International Storytelling Festival, Pirate's Week Festival, Cayman JazzFest , Seafarers Festival and Cayfest and the Cayman JazzFest. There are several traditional musical instruments one may come across with like the popular one being the fiddle, drums, grater, accordion and mouth organ.
