Ahmed Abdallah Mohamed Sambi was born on 5th June, 1958. He is also popular as 'Ayatollah'. He lives at Mutsamudu, the Anjouan capital. He owns several factories and is also the person behind the setting up of the Ulezi television station. He has achieved knowledge in Islamic studies at Iran, Sudan and Saudi Arabia. After coming to the chair Ahmed Abdallah promised to stand against corruption and also create better living conditions for the poor.
