Universidad de los Andes is an independent and autonomous institution in Colombia. Established in the year 1948, the university aims to spread technical and social education all over the world by offering programs in science and technology as well as humanities. This would not only lead to individual development but development of the country as a whole. It would bring about development in thought which will lay down the foundation stone of the progress of the country.
Universidad de los Andes in Colombia aims at overall development of its students and hence to foster the real value of responsibility; it provides them with individual autonomy where one would be responsible for himself.
At present there are around 27 undergraduate programs, 30 specialized graduate programs, 20 master programs and 3 doctorate programs which can be availed at Universidad de los Andes of Colombia. Apart from these programs, the university also promotes research work.

- Arranges specialized workshops where guest lecturers are called in to communicate with the students and share their experience.
Universidad de los Andes has the service of 148 full time teaching staff with most of them being doctorates. The professor student ratio in this university is 1:15.
