The city of Harare has innumerable tourist attractions. Apart from the tourist spots within the city, there are several other destinations in the outskirts where the tourists can plan for short tours from Harare. Some of these places are Mukuvisi Woodlands, Nyachowe Village, Kuimba Shiri Bird Gardens and Snake World and Lion and Cheetah Park and Lake Chivero Game Park.

Mukuvisi Woodlands: This natural wildlife sanctuary is the home to giraffe, elephant, ostrich and impala. It is owned by the Wildlife Society of Zimbabwe. One can also enjoy horse riding on the 110 hectare game park.
Lion and Cheetah Park and Lake Chivero Game Park: It takes about 4 hours to reach the place from Harare. It provides shelter to a wide number of animals and birds. There is also a lake known as Lake Chivero, which houses several varieties of fishes.
Ewenrigg Botanical Gardens: It is the home to aloes and several other plant species.
Kuimba Shiri Bird Gardens and Snake World: One will get to see some of the most venomous vipers Africa at the Snake World. The Kuimba Shiri is the home to a large number of birds. One can reach this place within 3 hours from Harare City.
Larvon Bird Gardens: There are about 180 species of bird in this garden. Some of them are sacred ibis, eagles, flamingoes and vultures.
Heroes’ Acre: It is the burial ground of the 25,000 Zimbabweans who died in the 1980 civil war.
