Harare cuisines follow standard Zimbabwean cooking practices. Harare restaurants serve both Zimbabwean and international delicacies. Sadza, Game meat and Nhedzi soup are some of the recommended Zimbabwean dishes. Beer is the most preferred beverage in Zimbabwe. Imported wines, liquers and spirits are also popular among drinkers.

Harare Cuisines

Mapopo Candy, Dovi, Zimbabwe Greens, Rock Shandy, Cornmeal Cake and Roasted Butternut Squash are some of the popular Harare cuisines. Mapopo is a preparation of papaya, sugar, mint and grated lemon peel. Dovi is prepared with onions, butter, pepper, salt, chicken, creamy peanut butter and frozen spinach. Zimbabwe Greens is made with green onions, tomato, peanut butter, collard greens, salt and water.
Rock Shandy is a dish made of lime juice, cold soda, Angostura bitters and ice. The Zimbabwean dish, Cornmeal cake is made with cornmeal, vanilla extract, sour cream, milk, butter and sugar. Roasted Butternut Squash is prepared with butternut squash, cinnamon and butter.
