Harare International Festival of Arts (HIFA) is a popular event of Zimbabwe. This festival takes place every year in Harare. The five main events of HIFA are fine arts, music, dance, spoken word and theatre. It is attended by a large number of artists from various corners of the world apart from Zimbabwe.
Harare International Festival of Arts, Zimbabwe began its journey in 1999. One gets to see the best of regional and international artwork in this festival. The festival provides a platform to both experts and amateurs to display their creativity.
2008 Harare International Festival of Arts
The 2008 Harare International Festival of Arts is scheduled to take place from 29th April. This year it will

complete its 9th successful term. A new project has been introduced this year in the festival known as HIFA Young Directors' Project, HIFA-DIRECT. This project invites aspirant directors to participate in it. The successful candidates will be given the chance to work for International and Zimbabwean playwrights. Three of them will be selected to display their talent at the 2008 HIFA. The Harare International Festival of Arts will end on 4th of May, 2008.
