Wichita Falls is a city in the Wichita County, Texas, US. It is one of the main cities of the Wichita Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is a sister city of Fürstenfeldbruck in Bavaria, Germany. The city is about 140 miles southwest of Oklahoma City.
The climate of Wichita Falls is very extreme in nature. In summers, the temperatures soar to 97.2º Fahrenheit while in winter, the temperatures fall down to 28.9ºFahrenheit. The hottest months are that of May, June, July and August. The winter season comprises of January and February.
Wichita Falls Municipal Airport caters to the American Eagle with six flights daily to the Dallas-fort Worth International Airport. The Kickapoo Downtown Airpark and the Wichita Valley Airport, on the other hand, serve private and smaller planes. Wichita Falls is the western terminus for Interstate 44. There are other state highways which run through the city of Wichita Falls.
The Midwestern State University , which is an accredited 4-year college, is located in Wichita Falls. The University offers both bachelor's and master's degrees.The primary and secondary public schools include the Wichita Falls Independent School District, the City View Independent School District, City View High School, Wichita Falls High School, S. H. Rider High School and the Bright Ideas Charter School.

Wichita Falls is well-known for its man made falls which are very nice. There are many parks by the Wichita riverside. There is a large walking trail which begins at the Lucy Park and ends in Reilly Park. There are some great covered picnic spots which are very popular. There are many clubs and places to eat, drink and dance. If you like fishing, Lake Arrowhead is just 30 minutes southeast of the town. You can even take a canoe or raft safari along the Wichita River. If you wish to take a little trip in the day then you can visit the Wichita Mountains near Fort Sill Oklahoma. It has a wild life reserve. The Holy City is another sight worth seeing.
