Waterloo is a city in the U.S state of Iowa. Originally known as "Prairie Rapids Crossing", the city was the home of the five Sullivan brothers, who were killed during World War II. The combination of urban and rural industries makes the city the headquarters of Silos and Smokestacks National Heritage Area. It is the commercial center for the northeast Iowa-farming region. It is also the county seat of Black Hawk County.

Area & Location: Lies in the Midwest, Waterloo is located at 42º29'33? Latitude North and 92º20'46? Longitude West. The city covers a total area of 160.6 sq. km with 157.3 sq. km of land and 3.3 sq. km of water. The city has a population of 68,747.
