National Zoo Washington DC is an important place to visit in the capital city of United States of America. The national zoological park is an integral part of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC. The timing of the zoo varies as per the seasons. From 30th October to 1st April, the zoo remains open from 6.00a.m to 6.00p.m, while from 2nd April to 29th October, the zoo can be accessed from 6.00a.m to 8.00p.m. There are many food stalls and eateries in the zoo premises, but tourists and visitors can also carry their own food and drinks.
Washington DC national zoo houses several species of animals, mammals, reptiles, birds, fish and amphibians. There are also some endangered and almost extinct species in the zoo, which have a free breeding ground here. Some of the most important species are the giant pandas, tigers, Asian elephants, lions, cheetahs, bears, giraffes, sea lions, monkeys, flamingoes, kingfisher, gorilla, black-foot ferret and many more.
