Tallahassee Community College was established in the year 1966. This public owned community college in Tallahassee, Florida is the education center which facilitates students from Leon, Gadsden, Wakulla along with students from other parts of Florida, US and also from abroad. It has student strength of approximately 60,000 students approximately.

The Community College education features well equipped class rooms, web- based classes, excellent education system and a variety of innovative and interesting instructional methods of education. Day and evening classes are also run by the TCC along with express sessions. It provides a strong knowledge base to its students who after graduation migrate to Florida Agricultural & Mechanical universities and other universities for higher education.

For the associated degrees awarded by the college, TCC is rated amongst the hundred eminent colleges in the US.

In the year 2005 it was ranked on the 24 th position amongst the other colleges of US.

Flagler College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Barry University and St. Leo University are the partner institutions of the TCC and provide the students with the facility of attaining a bachelor's degree without moving out of TCC.

Tallahassee community college has an excellent staff. Many of the faculty members of TCC, with their excellence and proficiency in their subject have been awarded with many honors by both state and national organizations.

Tallahassee community college tuition fee is a reasonable amount of $62.50 which is estimated to be quite low to that of other public and private colleges and universities. Apart from a low fee structure the TCC facilitates its students with financial aids and scholarships. According to the estimates of the year 2004 and 2005 Tallahassee community college provide to its students a financial aid of $40,000,000 and in the year 2006 the students received 569 scholarships approximately.

The student's support service system in Tallahassee community College offers TCC Connection and the Summer Education Academy, which is a summer program to assist to improve the performance of the students who in their high school score lower than required for the college placements. It also offers especial support system for the disabled students that include facility of note takers, tutors, interpreters, untimed testing, an adaptive computer lab and individualized pre-registration assistance. Other support programs include College Reach-Out Program, Take Stock in Children and the Challenge Scholarship.

The Student Union one stop center provides to its students the facility of admissions, student advising, career assistance and financial aid. Other facilities include

student clubs and organizations, the College bookstore and food court.

The students and faculty take initiative in community development programs and other social activities. The College's Division of Economic & Workforce Development's (EWD) provides assistance to the local business agencies, government agencies and non profit organizations, Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy's (PTLEA) provides training and assistance to students preparing for the GED exam and also gives assistance in community development works.
