St Louis is the gateway to west America. Low hills and broad shallow valleys formed by the Mississippi and Missouri rivers form the rugged but beautiful topography of the region. The west of the city's landscapes gradually eases into attractive lush green plains. Apart from its landscapes, the city is widely popular for its museums and performing arts.
