The St Louis City Museum is one of the major attractions of St Louis City. This museum has a lot to offer to young and old alike. Located in 701 North 15 th street this fascinating building is a favorite haunt for both locals and tourists.

This unique building was opened in 1997 in a building which previously housed the old international shoe company. An eccentric millionaire collected architectural artifacts from around St Louis and stored them in the building. When the St Louis City museum came into existence all the assorted collections were displayed in an interesting array of artifacts. All old materials were re-introduced by recycling things such as chimneys, bridges, construction equipment and even two airplanes.

There are several attractions in the museum. One is the enchanted caves. Here one can explore the inner caves of the old factory's spiral conveyor tunnel. After a visit to the enchanted caves one can sense how the old surroundings were, and directly draw a contrast with modern day living.

There is a section within the museum which is dedicated exclusively to Arts. Commonly known as the art world this segment of the museum is a big draw for aspiring artists.

Here professional artists give detailed description of their kind of crafts and entertain queries from amateurs. One can witness potters, painters and sculptors at their creative best. The glass studio is another fascinating section where artists give shape to their dream. Here one can see an artistic piece of work coming to form right before ones eyes. If interested one can participate and create ones own piece of work.

Before a visit one needs to be comfortably dressed. This is particularly recommended because many exhibits include climbing, sliding and sliding.

After a long stretch of watch, one may feel hungry. There are arrangements within the museum to take care of ones hunger. Home made sandwiches, salads, soups, and pastries are all available within. For those visiting after lunch there are snacks like milk shakes and chocolate chip cookies.
