Sioux City is a city in the U.S state of Iowa. Founded in 1854, 50 years after Lewis and Clark the explorers passed through the area. The city was incorporated in the year 1857. It is the principal city of the Sioux City and the county seat of Woodbury County.

Area & Location: Located in northwest Iowa, the city sits at the navigational head of the Missouri River, about 90 miles north of the Omaha-Council Bluffs metropolitan area. Sioux City lies between 42º29'53? Latitude North and 96º23'45? Longitude West. It covers a total area of 144.9 sq. km with141.9 sq. km of land and 3.0 sq. km of water. Around 85,013 people reside in the city with a density of 599.0 per sq. km.
