The Virginia Mason Medical Center is a private and non-profit organization located in Seattle. It provides a network of many primary and specialty care units at the Puget Sound region. The Medical Center was founded in 1920 by Virginia Mason with the help of six other physicians. Initially the center had only 80-beds. The Medical center derived its name from the co founders James Tate Mason, MD, and John M. Blackford, MD, daughter’s name. The radiologist Maurice Dwyer, MD also contributed to the establishment of the medical center. It was established with a vision to provide complete medical care to the patients under one roof.
The Medical Center provides medical treatments for most of the ailments. Some of the major departments of Virginia Mason Medical Center are AIDS/HIV Clinic, Brain Cancer, Asthma, Allergy and Immunology, Cancer Institute, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Ear, Nose and Throat, Radiation, Oncology, Pediatrics, Transplantation, and Vascular Center.

The Laboratory hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., from Monday to Friday.
