The Town Hall of Seattle is situated in a historic building, constructed in the style of Roman revival. This remarkable structure was built by the 4th Church of Christ, Scientist in 2 stages between 1916 and 1922. The construction of the edifice took place at the zenith of the Christian Science movement. During this time fine textures and ample spaces could be easily afforded. The primary and only resident of the building was the congregation, until Town Hall purchased it in 1998.
The architect of the original building was George Foote Dunham from Portland. He also built the Christian Science Church in Seattle that is located in the University District.
