Seattle Symphony Orchestra was established on December 29, 1903 by Music Director Gerard Schwarz. This musical institution is the oldest cultural establishments of the Pacific Northwest. Among the famous artists in Seattle Symphony Orchestra, Sir Thomas Beecham reached the zenith of popularity in two decades. Eventually, Seattle Symphony musicians extended their association to the Seattle Opera in 1973, they performed orchestra for opera productions. After the universal acclamation of Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen by the Symphony musicians in the Opera, Seattle Symphony Orchestra continued its collaboration with Seattle Opera. Other than its own concerts, the Seattle Symphony serves as the main venue for most of the Seattle music productions.
